We believe the essence of environmental management at manufacturer is pursuit of maximum production efficiency, in order to manage environmental conservation being consistent with the economy.

Therefore Canon has been very active in adopting eco-conscious technologies, which contribute to an establishment of self-sustainable society and economy. On top of acquisitions of ISO14000 series certified environmental management system, we have introduced LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and are proactively developing various recycling technologies. Furthermore, our factories have initiated various environmental actions such as measures against the global warming issue, reinforcement of chemical substance inventory management to reduce usages and emissions, promotion of waste reduction initiatives and environmental information disclosure initiatives.
