This year, Canon is once again an Official Sponsor of the UEFA European Football Championship™ taking place in Austria and Switzerland in June 2008.
Throughout UEFA EURO 2008™ Canon will be supporting all professional photographers at the tournament with camera and lens maintenance services and loan centres inside stadiums. We’ll also be delivering streamlined print services and solutions through a fleet of colour multifunctional printers, enabling UEFA staff and the world’s press to access crucial information at the touch of a button.
Canon will also participate in the Official Fan Zones which will be set up in public spaces in all eight host cities, and the ‘UEFA Euro Experience’ roadshow events which will tour Austria and Switzerland throughout the tournament.

Celebrating the tournament, the Canon EURO 2008™ microsite gives visitors the chance to get the best out of their camera with 3D photography tips, get the latest match photography direct from Getty Images and find out what’s new at Canon.
The Canon Fan Foto website, built in conjunction with UEFA, lets you show a passion for football and photography from a fan’s point of view to win UEFA EURO 2008™ VIP packages and the latest Canon imaging equipment.
Every vote and upload to Canon Fan Foto will be matched by a donation from Canon to the European Red Cross Societies.

The history of Canon and football
Over the years, we have been official imaging equipment supplier of the UEFA Champions League (1995-2000 and 2004-2006), the UEFA European Football Championship™ (1980-2000), the UEFA EURO 2004™ tournament (as official sponsor) and consecutive World Cup tournaments (1978-1998).
Our current football portfolio includes sponsorship of the UEFA Cup™ Final matches (from 2006/07 final up to the 2008/09 final) and UEFA Super Cup™ matches (from 2007 up to the August 2008 match).
We were also Official Sponsor of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana and the Russian Premier Football League.
