Canon Europe, European Marketing Manager for Cut-Sheet Production Printing, Sean Sinfield, said: “Interest in the imagePRESS C7000VP across all countries in Europe has been phenomenal since we previewed the engine at Ipex
last year. A high percentage of prospective customers that have seen the digital press in action at our Brussels showroom have become customers, which is additional proof that this product is set to have a dramatic impact on the digital print market. The
imagePRESS C7000VP represents a quantum leap in terms of image quality, stability, and productivity not only for Canon customers, but also for the professional print industry. It provides a key element of the complete solutions Canon is developing to grow
market share and become leader in the high-end digital colour production market.” The imagePRESS C7000VP comprises a number of revolutionary technologies, including the new V-Toner, T-Developer and E-Drum in conjunction with an Advanced Image Transfer Belt, and an oil-less Twin Fusing system, to deliver
an exceptional print quality that is complementary to offset printing. The robust engine design, coupled with advanced image control and colour management tools, deliver outstanding print quality with resolutions of 1,200dpi, 256 graduations at speeds of
70 colour impressions-per-minute, onto paper stocks up to 300gsm. The European roll-out of the imagePRESS C7000VP follows field testing at customer sites, including Amsterdam-based MultiCopy, part of a franchise of 80 graphic centres in The Netherlands, which took delivery of the Press
in mid-April. MultiCopy Netherlands CEO Gerard Slot said: “The imagePRESS brand has already become synonymous with a level of digital printing excellence that is unique. The image quality is as exceptional as it is stable. We have used the imagePRESS
C7000VP for a number of applications including large web-to-print European literature projects and our customers are extremely pleased with the results. We are delighted to have been one of very first companies in the world to have an imagePRESS C7000VP,
and we look forward to a continued partnership with Canon.” Sinfield added: “Last year, at Ipex and Canon Concerto events in Barcelona and Berlin, we re-confirmed our intention to become a major player in the professional print arena by previewing a working version of the
imagePRESS C7000VP to the market. The Pan-European availability of the Press demonstrates that we are resolutely committed to delivering leading digital solutions to the market that offer new ways for our customers to view digital printing and benefit
from it. The imagePRESS C7000VP is the result of significant investment into ground-breaking technologies by Canon Inc., whose research and development spend is around 8% of its non-consolidated sales. The general availability of the C7000VP, and the
continued success of its sister engine, the imagePRESS C1, mean that the imagePRESS brand is going from strength to strength.” Canon Europe has also released guideline sales figures for the imagePRESS C1, the high-quality, short-run printing, print-on-demand and proofing engine that incorporates many of the imagePRESS C7000VP’s imaging
technologies. Sales of the imagePRESS C1 have already exceeded the 1,200 mark across Europe and demand shows no signs of lessening since it began shipping at the end of last year.
