Canon wins Buyers Laboratory’s 2008 ‘MFP Line of the Year’ Award for the sixth time since 2000 Four multifunctional printers from Canon awarded 2008 ‘End of Year Pick’ awards by Buyers Laboratory Canon won more ‘Pick’ awards in 2008 than any other vendor
The BLI ‘MFP Line of the Year’ is awarded to the best overall MFP range based on regular and exhaustive lab-based evaluations. BLI also acknowledges the best in class with its twice yearly ‘Pick’ awards. MFPs have to prove outstanding performance in a wide range of areas, including reliability, productivity, image quality, ease of use, IT and security. BLI has also acknowledged Canon’s reliable, quality printing with four end-of-year 2008 ‘Pick’ awards. The devices recognised for leading in their category include the black-and-white iR 3225, iR 3235N and the iR 3245N as well as the iR C1021i colour MFP for small workgroups. David Sweetnam, BLI European lab and research manager said: “The BLI awards recognize the print industry’s outstanding performers. Based on cumulative test results, Canon’s MFPs out-performed its rivals throughout 2008. We are pleased to recognise this achievement by awarding Canon the ‘MFP Line of the Year award’. “Canon’s consistency in developing leading print devices has seen it collect no fewer than 23 MFP ‘Pick’ awards since 2005 and more than any other vendor in 2008.” Canon’s complete portfolio of black-and-white and colour MFPs range from entry-level through to high-performance printers for large corporate customers. Paul Rowntree, European Marketing Manager, Canon Europe, says: “Winning the BLI’s ‘MFP Line of the Year’ award for the sixth time is a fantastic achievement for Canon and highlights the strength in depth of our MFP portfolio. To receive this award alongside the end of year ‘Pick’ awards confirms Canon’s position as a leader across both colour and black-and-white in the MFP market. “Canon understands that its customers have a wide range of imaging requirements; and that the needs of a small or home business customer will be very different from those of a large corporate business. It’s the broad portfolio of print devices, software and professional services that means we are able to meet the imaging needs of all business clients.” Complete test reports are available from Buyers Laboratory and Canon on request.
