Canon Europe extends its high quality remanufactured MFP portfolio in response to customer demand for cost-effective black-and-white printers Canon imageRUNNER iR6570Ne, iR4570Ne and iR2870Ne are produced at the Canon Giessen manufacturing facility and meet the same standards as Canon’s new devices Remanufactured MFPs can also help customers meet local environmental targets
Responding to customer demand for lower cost black-and-white office printers, Canon has introduced three remanufactured black-and-white MFPs; the Canon imageRUNNER iR6570Ne, iR4570Ne and iR2870Ne. Canon’s remanufacturing process increases the lifespan of its printers and enables Canon to offer the new range of remanufactured MFPs at a significantly lower price than new devices. Organisations in the public sector and environmental agencies may be interested in remanufactured printers as a way to help reduce their organisation’s impact on the environment. The pan European remanufacturing programme ensures that up to 93 percent of parts by weight are reused to extend the life of Canon’s MFPs. As significantly fewer new raw materials are required during remanufacturing, the resource consumption is much lower than in the production of new devices. Canon’s high quality remanufacturing approach is more comprehensive than simply refurbishing printers with new or cleaned parts as is commonplace in the industry. Instead, each MFP is completely rebuilt. The remanufactured devices meet the same standards as new devices, which enables Canon to reset the click counter to zero and appoint each MFP with a brand new serial number. Technicians also incorporate the latest upgrades and erase previous data, essentially giving each printer a new life.
Matthew Wrighton, European Office & Light Production Marketing Manager, Canon Europe, says, “Organisations are constantly looking for ways to make their budgets go further and meet environmental standards. In extending the life of some of our leading office printers, Canon customers can now benefit from significantly cheaper remanufactured office printers that are equivalent to brand new devices. “Canon began remanufacturing devices in the early 1990s, using the company’s technical expertise to provide customers with a quality print solution at a significantly lower cost than a new MFP. More than 15 years on we are still seeing a strong demand for remanufactured black-and-white MFPs.” Centralised at Canon Giessen, the ongoing remanufacturing project will roll out approximately 700 units each month from a factory-standard production line. As one of 30 production sites worldwide, Canon Giessen in Germany is part of Canon’s global manufacturing strategy to produce high quality remanufactured office equipment for the European market. The Canon imageRUNNER iR6570Ne, iR4570Ne and iR2870Ne include the latest software solutions from Canon promoting print efficiency and security. These include uniFLOW Output Manager, eMaintenance, Security & Cost Control Pack, Therefore MEAP and eCopy document solutions. The three new remanufactured black-and-white MFPs will be available across Europe from today.
