Canon launches Total Service Care, a 'pay-as-you-print' large format solution

LONDON, 1 April 2011 – Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, today announces the launch of Canon’s first ‘pay-as-you-print’ service for the large format printing market. Called Total Service Care, the solution allows Canon customers to benefit from a large format printing solution that makes it easy to control costs and regulate cash flow. It is comprised of a contract that includes installation, telephone support, on-site service maintenance, ink, print heads and maintenance cartridges.

  • Innovative ‘pay-as-you-print’ solution for the large format printing market

  • Includes telephone support, on-site service maintenance, ink, print heads and maintenance cartridges, giving customers peace of mind

  • Helps to control costs and regulate cash flow

  • Optional e-maintenance for automatic billing, ink management and proactive services

In addition to the greater budgetary control that the solution delivers, the peace of mind that it offers customers is another significant benefit. Charges are ‘click’ based, so that the customer only pays for what they use, and because servicing and support are included, there will be no unexpected costs for these. Next-day response-time options are available, and because help will be at hand whenever the customer needs it, the solution minimises downtime.

An e-maintenance option is also available, which enables Canon printers to automatically report their status and log a service request by email to the Canon service provider. This automatic fault reporting allows technicians to determine the state of the printer and ensure they have any required parts before they visit. The system also sends regular meter readings to the Canon service provider. This enables the system to automatically order new ink as soon as stocks begin to run low, as well as enabling accurate automated billing.

The solution is a simple way of managing printing costs and reducing downtime for all of Canon’s large format print customers, from those who use Canon large format printers in photography, proofing and production to those who use them for CAD (Computer Aided Design) applications in industries such as architecture, engineering and construction. It is also ideal for retail, hospitality, leisure, education and transport businesses, as well as public sector organisations, which are considering bringing large format printing in-house to have greater control over costs.

Yuichi Miyano, Director of Large Format Solutions, Canon Europe comments: “In the feedback that we’ve received from our customers and channel partners, we’ve seen an increasing demand for a solution that helps customers to control their print costs, better regulate their cash flow and minimise their downtime. With the launch of Total Service Care, Canon is now able to offer the wide format printing market a solution that meets this demand. This service, together with our imagePROGRAF range of large format printers, means that all businesses can now benefit from large format solutions that offer outstanding image quality and accuracy whilst easily controlling costs.”

Total Service Care will be available on the following imagePROGRAF large format printers: the 24 inch iPF650, iPF655, iPF6300 and iPF6350, the 36 inch iPF750 and iPF755, the 44 inch iPF8300, as well as the newly launched 24 inch iPF6300S and 44 inch iPF8300S.

Canon’s Total Service Care service will be available to Canon customers across Europe from 1st April 2011.
