Larger hard disk and memory increase efficiency Accounting functionality helps manage printing costs Administrator mode enhances security, control and efficiency Enhanced HP-GL/2 support increases productivity
The imagePROGRAF iPF815 and iPF825 are successor models to the iPF810 and iPF820. The updated models continue to deliver large format prints of outstanding quality and vivid colours at high print speeds, with the addition of an accounting functionality, an administrator mode, a larger hard disk drive, more space for dedicated file-processing and enhanced HP-GL/2 support. The new accounting cost-tracking software is a powerful feature used for accurate management of job logs and other information that allows users to collect print job data and calculate printing costs. The built-in Economy Print Mode is ideal for quick check plots and proofs, and helps to lower the overall cost of production and reduce ink consumption. The introduction of the administrator mode brings increased security, control and efficiency in networked environments. Both printers are also equipped with up to 29 password-protected user inboxes. The 160GB hard disk gives double the storage space of previous models, and features a secure erase utility. The iPF815 and iPF825 also feature a 32GB memory, an impressive increase from 3GB that was in its predecessors, which makes it possible to process large print jobs even more efficiently. Both models come with USB 2.0 High Speed interface and network connectivity, and the iPF825 features a high-capacity portable output media basket. Enhanced HP-GL/2 support means that print jobs generated by most popular CAD-based applications are processed more efficiently. The 44 inch printers deliver exceptional line reproduction, with a minimum line width of 0.02mm. True 1,200 dpi high-resolution printing means that the imagePROGRAF iPF825 and iPF815 deliver superb image quality. Both models are capable of printing a full-density A1-sized colour plot in 24 seconds and up to 120 A1-sized plots per hour. A0-sized plots print in 45 seconds. The dual media roll on the iPF825 supports even greater productivity and flexibility. For high volume printing, it can hold two rolls of the same paper or two rolls of different media. The new engines offer a large printing area which only has 3mm (0.12-inches) all around, and with glossy/semi-glossy paper types, four-sided borderless printing up to 42 inches is possible. This saves time on finishing, and a self-driven rotary blade cutter that starts as soon as the print is finished enables faster throughput. A further productivity-boosting feature on both models is the ‘Hot Swap’ high capacity ink tanks, which can be changed without interrupting a print job. The models are equipped with 330ml or 700ml pigment-based Matte Black cartridges and dye-based Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges. “The 24 inch iPF650 and iPF655 and the 36 inch iPF750 and iPF755 are already highly successful and growing in popularity in the CAD and GIS markets. The evolution of the 44 inch models enhance our offering to these markets, incorporating groundbreaking new features that maximise productivity and increase usability. Blending features with functionality, these latest additions to our Large Format Printer range boast the fastest print speeds, greatest accuracy and richest features available in the CAD/GIS and Production markets,” comments Yuichi Miyano, Director of Large Format Solutions, Canon Europe. The imagePROGRAF iPF815 and iPF825 will be available across Europe from 1st November 2010.
