Canon extends range of A4 printers, opening a rapidly growing market to Partners

LONDON, September 01, 2011 - Canon Europe, world leader in imaging solutions, today announces it is extending its offering to Partners with highly competitive additions to its imageRUNNER and i-SENSYS portfolios. By expanding its A4 portfolio Canon is opening up the rapidly growing A4 black-and-white MFD market – which grew 12 per cent during Q1 2011[1] – to Partners, and boosting revenue opportunities through improved features and serviceability.

Within the new range, Canon is launching two new imageRUNNER series (the iR1100 and iR1700) as well as four new i-SENSYS series (LBP7600, MF5900, MF8000 and MF8300). The devices add new speeds and functionality to its A4 range, meeting the diverse needs of customers. Additionally they integrate seamlessly with Canon’s existing products, giving Partners a consistent portfolio to support fleet and balanced deployment.

“The level of integration across our product portfolio is unique in the market,” says Alex Thurgood, European Channel Marketing Manager at Canon Europe. “We want to help Partners drive revenues; by offering a broad range of devices to suit any business need, and through improved serviceability across our range.”

Compatibility with uniFLOW – for the iR1700, iR1100 and the i-SENSYS ‘LBP ADVANCE’ series – enables full control of output across a fleet, as well as the option of a back-up counter that allows for a click charge business model to support centralised billing as part of a balanced deployment. This enables Partners to maintain existing revenue streams and develop efficiencies to their service operation through a single service model.

Within the new A4 portfolio, Canon is also launching a range of colour and black-and-white multi-functional devices aimed at small to medium enterprises. This includes the i-SENSYS MF5900 series, an addition to Canon’s black-and-white portfolio, as well as new colour devices, the i-SENSYS MF8300 and MF800 series. The new devices provide customers with competitive features and improved productivity, as well as greater energy efficiency.

Canon imageRUNNER 1700 and 1100 series
The new black and white imageRUNNER range adds new features to the portfolio, with the iR1700 series offering fast print speeds of up to 50ppm, and the option of 30ppm and 40ppm speeds. Both the iR1700 and the iR1100 series benefit from a more interactive customer experience, with an advanced touchscreen user interface to maintain consistency with other MEAP enabled devices in Canon’s portfolio. The iR1700 also has the option of a compact finisher allowing the customer to save time and costs on short finishing print runs.

Both series are compatible with eMaintenance, which includes remote servicing options to help customers to improve the management and serviceability of their fleet and therefore reduce print downtime. It also enables partners to offer proactive and remote servicing, delivering increased service efficiency

Canon i-SENSYS LBP7680
Canon is launching a new generation of laser printers within the i-SENSYS range, built on a new architecture consistent with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE products. The single-function printer offers customers the same integration and many enterprise features found in the imageRUNNER ADVANCE range, but in smaller footprint. This includes embedded uniFLOW, the industry’s only single platform to manage all print and scanning processes, enabling customers to better control and manage their printing costs and document security.

Canon i-SENSYS (MF5900, MF800, MF8300)
Canon is also launching new i-SENSYS black-and-white (MF5900) and colour (MF8300 and MF800) multi-function printers.  All ranges have the option of a model with Wi-Fi capability for wireless printing. The i-SENSYS 8300 benefits from colour and black-and-white print speeds of 20ppm, automatic double-sided print, LCD screen, quick scan to PC options. The i-SENSYS 8000 range benefits from stylish, minimal design with low energy consumption. The new black-and-white i-SENSYS printer (MF5900) offers print speeds of 33ppm as well as a small footprint, easy maintenance and Post Script and Wi-Fi capabilities.

The imageRUNNER 1100 and 1700 series will be available during October 2011.

The i-SENSYS LBP7600 series will be available during October 2011.

The i-SENSYS MF5900 series will be available during October 2011.

The i-SENSYS MF8000 & MF8300 will be available during November 2011.
