The Canon EOS Adventure launched in September to both educate and inspire DSLR beginners to take their photography to the next level. Budding snappers can improve their photography skills and enter the competition by visiting the EOS Adventure page on Yahoo! where they will find exclusive tutorial videos and advice put together by Canon’s team of professional experts. Competition for the prize is fierce, with over 56,000 photographs already uploaded from across Europe. Lifestyle photographer Adam Swords, wildlife photographer Jamie Crawford, creator of popular German photo magazine KWERFELDEIN Martin Gommel and botanical photographer Rachel Warne have created tutorials covering the ‘Essentials of Photography’. The videos, which have been viewed by nearly one million people since their launch in September, provide tips on essential photography techniques including composure, lighting and capturing motion. Each professional photographer has also provided their thoughts on their best photography adventures and getting their careers started in their personal Q&As. The experts will have the hard task of judging the competition entries when the competition deadline closes at 22.59 hours (GMT) on Sunday 20th November. To date over 56,000 photos have been entered, covering a diverse range of subjects, from ‘Shanghai Street Lighting’ to a ‘World Travelling Suitcase’ and photographic styles. The 60 best images across the six categories will be awarded an EOS System lens to help them hone their skills even further. One overall winner will be whisked off to a Kenya, where they’ll enjoy an exclusive photography adventure with Canon’s wildlife photography experts, Jonathan and Angela Scott, ‘The Big Cat People’. The winner will also win a brand new Canon EOS 7D and have the chance to put their new photography skills to the test, capturing the sights of their safari adventure whilst touring around Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve from their base in the Governor’s Camp.
