High quality desktop colour laser printing – perfect for small and personal offices

i-SENSYS LBP3100 Amstelveen, The Netherlands, 26 August, 2008: Canon announces two new entry-level mono laser printers, perfect for the personal office – the LBP3100 and LBP3010. Replacing the LBP3000 and LBP2900, both models offer improved desktop designs, plus print speeds as fast as 16 ppm (LBP3100) or 14 ppm (LBP3010). For ultimate office efficiency, Canon’s Quick First Print technologies allow documents to be printed quickly with virtually no warm-up time – First Print Out Time is just 8.5 seconds or less.

The LBP3010 – an ideal entry point into the laser market – is designed for the personal office. The LBP3100 is designed for users who put a premium on faster print speeds.

LBP3100 and LBP3010 feature:

  • Print speed: 16 ppm (LBP3100) or 14 ppm (LBP3010)
  • Up to 2400 x 600 dpi print resolution with Automatic Image Refinement (AIR)
  • First Print Out Time (FPOT) of 8.5 seconds or less
  • Quick First Print technologies for instantaneous printing from sleep mode
  • Improved compact and stylish design
  • Easy operation: convenient front power switch and retractable paper tray cover
  • Only 2 Watts energy consumption in sleep and standby mode
  • All-in-One (AIO) laser cartridge for maintenance free operation

Energy efficient
Many personal and small office users only print infrequently during a typical working day, leaving their printers in sleep mode for considerable amounts of time. LBP3100 and LBP3010 are both extremely energy efficient in this respect, consuming only 2 watts in sleep mode, minimising the impact on the environment as well as reducing energy costs. Then, from sleep mode, Canon’s suite of Quick First Print technologies provides instant printing, meaning that no time is spent waiting in front of the printer.

On-Demand Fixing technology eliminates frustrating warm-up times, using a thin fixing film heated directly by a ceramic heater. Improvements made to the Canon Advance Printing Technology (CAPT) controller leverages the processing power of the host computer – either PC or Mac – to deliver rapid print processing and enhanced usability. New MS toner ensures clear black and white text reproduction with improved developing and melting performance. Taken together, these three technologies help deliver Quick First Print performance.
