New MD takes the helm at Canon

Zurich, Switzerland, 20 June 2011 – Markus Naegeli will be appointed Managing Director of expanded Canon Swiss business, subject to the completion of the acquisition of Océ (Schweiz) A.G. on 30th June 2011.

The new business combining Canon and Océ product portfolios is now the market leader in document and production printing systems in Switzerland.  The combination is a consequence of the global announcement on 16th November 2009 to create the leading business in the printing industry.

Business integration is the preferred management approach due to specific local market conditions.  In Switzerland a high ratio of indirect business and direct competition mean that one organisation, using the combined strengths of Canon and Océ, will be better placed to secure future sales growth.  With this team in place full business integration can now start.
