LONDON, May 16, 2012 – Canon, world-leader in imaging solutions, has retained its position as Europe’s most trusted camera brand according to the 12th annual survey conducted by Reader’s Digest. The survey asked consumers in 16 European countries about their trusted brands and found that Canon was the ‘most trusted’ camera brand in 13 of the 16 participating countries.

 “Canon is strongly committed to creating products that reflect the needs and interests of our customers, and we are pleased that the survey results support this,” commented James Leipnik, Chief of Communication for Canon Europe. “Through our technologies, we aim to encourage everyone to be as passionate about the power of image as we are.” The survey is one of Europe’s widest reaching customer studies and questioned over 27,000 people across 16 countries. Respondents rated brands according to quality, value, image and the extent to which they understand customer needs. The questions also measured consumer confidence in companies’ advertising claims and brands’ attitudes towards the environment. The 13 countries that selected Canon as the ‘most trusted’ camera brand were Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
