How did you hear about the Canon Graduate Programme and why did you decide to apply?
When I graduated from Universita Bocconi in
Milan I was thinking about the different career
options available to me. I made a list of the companies I would like to work for and Canon
was in the top 5. I discovered the Canon
Graduate Programme on the Canon careers website. Having the opportunity to experience different organisations and roles seemed like a great idea. I applied straight away!
What development opportunities have you had at Canon?
I have had a chance to work in three different countries, two Canon regional headquarters, three different departments and an external Canon partner. I have learnt enormously from these experiences and gained a lot of knowledge.
I have had an excellent opportunity to begin my career at Canon in the solutions development team, which has become a critical part of our business. I then worked in the regional headquarters for Canon Central Eastern Europe and then spent 8 months supporting one of our key software development companies in Germany. At the end of the Graduate Programme, thanks to the great support from my mentors, I have joined the Managed Print Services Business Development team in Canon Europe. This perfectly complements the skills and competencies I developed during the two years of the Graduate Programme.
What would you tell a prospective applicant about the Graduate scheme?
I would recommend the Canon Graduate Programme to all the recent university graduates. You are constantly learning by doing, you meet great people and depending on your languages skills you may have a chance to work in different countries. There is no better way to begin your career! I loved every minute of it, and yes, I would do it again.
