Adding the Digital IXUS WIRELESS to your network
Canon's user-friendly software makes it easy to set up Wi-Fi enabled devices for use with the Digital IXUS WIRELESS.
Up to 8 target devices(1) – such as laptops(2), wireless access points and other Digital IXUS WIRELESS cameras(3) - can be registered. Switching between devices is simply a matter of selecting from the camera's wireless menu.
Connection modes
The Digital IXUS WIRELESS supports two connection modes: - 1. Ad-hoc mode
In this mode wireless devices communicate with each other directly. The Digital IXUS WIRELESS uses ad-hoc mode to connect directly to Wi-Fi enabled laptops(2), desktop computers(2) and PictBridge printers(4).

In this mode devices communicate with each other via a wireless access point. Infrastructure mode allows the Digital IXUS WIRELESS to communicate with networks that are connected to the wireless access point – ideal for integration with an existing home
network or office LAN. You can also use this mode to print wirelessly via computer.

(2) Requires Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b) enabled computer running Windows XP SP2 or Mac OS X v10.4. Macintosh support requires separate firmware and software downloads.
(3) Wireless Camera to Camera Communication feature requires firmware download.
(4)Wireless direct printing requires Wireless Print Adapter WA-1E (supplied).
