The optically stabilized camcorder with digital camera brains

Power in your palm
With compelling design, the 10x Optical Zoom MVX40 is as brilliant to handle as the results it produces. A stylish compact body conceals a powerful 2.2 Megapixel sensor and RGB Primary Color Filter to capture every detail of every scene for superb video and digital photo quality.

Rock steady
Normally featured in much more expensive video cameras, advanced Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) acts as an invisible tripod to ensure calm, steady footage. Unlike electronic stabilization, OIS continues to work when shooting dramatic wide screen 16:9 footage and when shooting digital stills, keeping your photos crisp and blur free.

Two in one
With its powerful DIGIC DV processor, the MVX40 has photo functions typically found only in specialist digital cameras. You have access to picture effects such as Sepia and Vivid Colour, special Scene Modes to help you get great results in tricky lighting conditions, Auto Exposure Bracketing and a built-in flash. Dual path DIGIC DV processing lets you take photos and record video simultaneously, and up to 60 frames at 5fps can be shot in a single burst.

Precision optics
Offering superb image clarity, the 10x zoom lens builds on 60 years of Canon experience. An aspheric element ensures corner to corner clarity and Super Spectra lens coatings suppress ghosting and flare.

Emotional Colours
The RGB Primary Color Filter enhances tonal accuracy and colour definition.
Recording the colours we humans recall and respond to, Canon’s DIGIC DV processor then translates optical data into beautiful, lifelike imagery. Skin tones are warm and natural, while colours such as the blues of a sky or the greens of grass are rich and vibrant.

Anytime, anywhere
When outdoors, a backlight button makes the 2.5” LCD extra visible, while Night Mode allows recording in low light conditions. A Light Guide Flash further extends digital still shooting options.

Razor sharp
For shooting photos, the same 9-point auto focusing found in Canon’s high-end digital still cameras keeps your image sharp – even with off-centre subjects. A Manual Focus Ring gives you total and precise control.

Easy prints
To create album quality prints, simply connect your new camcorder to any PictBridge compatible printer and hit the Print/Share button – it is that easy. And with the USB 2.0 link, photo prints and file uploads to computer are also super fast.
