A high-performance DIGIC (DIGital Imaging Core) processor extracts the maximum amount of information from every image, giving true-to-life colour reproduction and fast continuous shooting. What’s more, because the DIGIC processor works at high-speed, the camera’s battery life is extended.
You can record movie clips complete with sound and play them back at the touch of a button.
An Intelligent Orientation Sensor recognises whether you're holding the camera horizontally or vertically when shooting, allowing more accurate metering.
Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space (iSAPS) analyses every composition based on factors such as zoom position and image luminosity. This results in faster auto-focusing, accurate auto-exposure and precise auto white balance. 9-point AiAF lets you focus on any one of nine different areas of your composition.
For instant prints you simply connect the Digital IXUS 400 direct to a printer, select your image and print. There’s no PC required.
For underwater photography there’s an optional waterproof case, watertight to a depth of 40 metres.
