ISO Range ISO speed determines the camera sensor's sensitivity to light. At high ISO settings, a camera needs less light to capture the detail in a scene.

The standard ISO range of ISO 80 to ISO 800 on Canon digital cameras covers most lighting situations. Use ISO 800 to shoot in indoor or low light environments and maintain the ambience of the scene. ISO 1600 on selected models enables you to shoot in
near-dark situations or where flash is prohibited. These high ISO settings also allow you to use faster shutter speeds, reducing the risk of image blur caused by moving subjects.

With High ISO Auto mode enabled, the camera prioritises shutter speed by automatically choosing a high ISO setting.
