ISO Range
ISO speed determines the camera sensor's sensitivity to light. At high ISO settings, a camera needs less light to capture the detail in a scene.*

|
|
The standard ISO range of ISO 80 to ISO 1600 on Canon digital compact cameras covers most lighting situations. Use ISO 1600 when you’re shooting at night, or in low-light environments to get the best results. On selected models the ISO 3200 scene mode gives an extra boost to achieve usable images in near-dark situations without the flash. A range of auto ISO features takes the worry out of choosing the ISO level for optimum results.

Motion Detection Technology
Activated in High ISO Auto, this intelligent system detects subject motion and camera shake and uses an ISO boost to eliminate the effects of blur. The system corrects only when motion is detected, so image quality is optimised.

Auto ISO Shift
Auto ISO Shift predicts when a slow shutter speed could cause image blur due to camera shake. It enables you to counteract potential blur by boosting the ISO setting automatically in auto mode, or with the press of a single button in manual mode. *ISO options vary, check specifications for details.
