The EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 II USM is designed as a standard zoom lens for the EOS 300V. It provides the fastest AF speed in its class* when used with this camera. Faster all round performance is also delivered when the lens is used with other EOS models. To achieve this increased speed the EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 II USM uses an AF drive pattern optimised for the EOS 300V, has a new type of CPU with increased communication speed, and features a new AF algorithm. The exterior design of the lens matches that of the EOS 300V and other EOS models. High image quality is ensured throughout the focal length range by the use of an aspherical element in one of the lens groups. This lens features the USM (Ultrasonic Motor) motor which operates almost noiseless. Only environmentally-friendly lead-free glass is used for the optics.
