A remarkably light and compact standard zoom achieving excellent cost performance through the use of Canon's Micro USM (Micro Ultrasonic Motor). In addition to quiet and quick focusing, the carefully designed optical system provides sharp, high-contrast image quality throughout the zoom range. Also, since close focusing is possible to 0.38 m/ 1.3 ft regardless of the focal length, close-ups of picture area as small as a postcard are possible at the 80mm position. This lens is also available with the same focal length and aperture range using a Micromotor. |
