Flight Simulation

One business that has taken advantage of the imaging power of XEED projectors is SEOS, a leading global supplier of display and immersive solutions for simulation and visualisation. XEED projectors now form a crucial component of many of their simulation systems, after a development process that has seen close collaboration and sharing of technical expertise between engineers working for SEOS and Canon in Japan.

A portable flight simulator SEOS developed for SAAB, a leading aviation manufacturer uses three high brightness native SXGA+ resolution XEED projectors to create a seamless 160º x 40º field of view which immerses the user in the world of the cockpit.

One of the key requirements for this project was that the flight simulator be portable enough to be flown to air shows and air fields around the world. “Transportability is becoming an increasingly important requirement within display systems,” said Sarah Minett, Chief Sales Officer of SEOS. “A native SXGA+ resolution XEED projector was the perfect component for our requirements – offering compact, lightweight portability and extensive connectivity.
