Fundus Autofluorescence
The CR-2 Plus is a high performing Non Mydriatic retinal camera with FAF functionality for high quality and high resolution diagnostic imaging. FAF imaging for the diagnosis of retinal disease is a relatively new diagnostic technique that provides more information on the health of the retinal pigment epithelium. FAF has proven to be very useful for the early detection of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), one of the leading causes of visual impairment. Recent studies indicate that FAF imaging can also aid the diagnosis of a variety of other diseases and even detection of intraocular tumors.
45° Non Mydriatic Retinal Camera
The CR-2 Plus is a 45 degrees retinal camera. Additionally it is equipped with a 2X digital magnification . A minimum pupil diameter of ø 4.0 mm (only ø 3.3 mm in Small Pupil mode) is required.
Dedicated camera with EOS technologytechnology
The CR-2 Plus is equipped with a unique 18.0 Megapixel digital EOS camera that was developed by Canon for its retinal cameras, for best possible ophthalmic imaging.
Wide range of ISO settings to suit your needs
Lower ISO values for best possible image quality. Higher ISO values with patient friendly low flash for quick successive imaging and higher throughput. Range is from 200 to 6400 ISO.
True photometric Auto Exposure
The photometric observation by the dedicated EOS camera will guarantee perfect pictures, independent of the patient’s pupil size and ethnic origin.

Intuitive central control
The control panel is equipped with central control for intuitive and simple operation. You are in FAF photography mode at the touch of a button.
Software guided stereo photography
With the help of the software-guided stereo photography, you just align the CR-2 Plus using the stereo guide marks that are shown on the EOS screen.
Anterior eye photography
In this mode, you can easily and quickly take anterior eye photographs and create documentation of the cornea, pupil, and sclera.
Digital Red-Free and Cobalt images
Canon’s expertise in image processing and digital cameras has resulted in innovative digital Red free and Cobalt photography.
Bundled Retinal Imaging Control Software
The CR-2 Plus comes with Canon's Retinal Imaging Control Software (RICS). The software has extensive diagnostic features such as Cup/Disc ratio calculation, study comparison, RGB channel display and stereo viewing.
Open connectivity and DICOM compliant
The CR-2 Plus with RICS has extensive network capabilities and is fully DICOM compliant. The seamless integration with practice management systems is possible using the Canon Capture Utility software that was specifically developed for this purpose.
