We would like to inform you that Canon Inc. has today issued a product advisory to notify customers of an improper "country of origin" indication appearing on packaging for the Battery Pack BP-308, a replacement battery sold for use in Canon digital video camcorders since August 2005.

Details
This battery pack is manufactured according to Canon's specifications in the People's Republic of China. The country of origin is correctly displayed on the battery pack itself, but the country of origin shown on the packaging for the battery packs that are sold separately is mistakenly listed as Japan.

Note that this product was manufactured according to the quality standards for genuine Canon products and can be used without any need for concern.
