Answer:
Canon has discovered that some WFT-E1 wireless file transmitters will emit electromagnetic noise that exceeds prescribed limits against radio interference.
Phenomenon:Some products will emit electromagnetic noise that exceeds prescribed standards (regulated by the Voluntary Control Council for Interference by Information Technology Equipment, or VCCI) when images taken with a digital camera are transferred from the affected product to a computer via a wired Ethernet (LAN connection)*.There will be no effect on the digital camera connected to the affected product, the affected product itself, or the images taken. Moreover it is deemed unlikely that in normal use the radiated electromagnetic noise will cause significant radio interference for other equipment, such as TVs and radios.* This phenomenon does not occur if using a wireless LAN.
Affected Products:WFT-E1 wireless file transmitterOnly products with serial numbers ranging from 12001 to 13405 are affected. Serial numbers are listed on the back of the product.
Customer Support:To ensure our customers can use our products with confidence, we make every effort to reach the highest standards of quality management. We apologize for any inconvenience this problem may have caused for users of the WFT-E1.Free-of-charge countermeasures will be provided for any of the affected products, regardless of warranty status, to prevent the electromagnetic noise from exceeding regulated levels.
