FAQ: Is it necessary to install new software on my computer even if a previous software version is already installed?

Solution:

The software you were previously using may not be compatible with the camera you want to use.
In such cases, install the software that is supplied with the camera you want to use to overwrite the previous version. The CD-ROM will automatically judge the following conditions before the software is installed.

  • If the software version included on the CD-ROM is newer, the previous software will be updated.
  • If the software version included on the CD-ROM is not installed on your computer, the software will be newly installed.
  • If the software version included on the CD-ROM is older than, or the same as, the software installed to your computer will be prioritized, and software installation will not be performed.

NOTE
  • Software updates will not affect the cameras you have used before or images previously taken.

Installing new software to overwrite a previous version

Install the software that is supplied with your new camera to overwrite a previous version on your computer by referring to the following pages. (The procedures are the same as those for new installation.)
