FAQ: EOS 50D Latest Firmware Update

Details:

This issue surrounds the 16GB, 32GB, 120GB and large-capacity 256GB CF cards in the Lexar Professional CF 1000X series that are to be sequentially released from late February 2012 onwards.

When using these CF cards with the EOS 50D, a card error (Err02) may occur during shooting or when initializing the CF card, so this issue has been addressed in the latest firmware.

Solution:

Firmware Version 1.0.9 incorporates the following improvements and fixes:

  1. Optimizes the camera’s performance when using certain UDMA 7-compatible CF cards released in February 2012 or later.

  2. Corrects wording in the Dutch language menu screen

Important:
Firmware Version 1.0.9 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.8. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.9, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
