We have discovered that for the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II included in the zoom lens kits of the EOS 600D, certain camera and application functions are not currently supported. Therefore, we are preparing software updates to provide support for this lens.

By updating the Digital Photo Professional and EOS Utility applications for the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens, the following functions will become available:

Functions that are available in Digital Photo Professional:

1. Peripheral illumination correction
2. Distortion correction
3. Chromatic aberration correction
4. Colour blur correction

Functions that are available with the camera: ^*2

*2) To use these functions, you need to use EOS Utility to register the lens data.

Users are asked to update the following applications ^*3 for the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II lens. We are planning to make these software updates available for download from the Canon website from late August. Once these software updates are ready, we will make an announcement on our website.
