How can I install the Printer (InkJet SFP) drivers and software for Windows Vista?

CD-ROM version 2.0 or later
CD-ROM version older than version 2.0 or no CD-ROM

If you are not sure which type of CD-ROM you have, please click here.

If the version of the CD-ROM prepackaged with this machine is 2.0 or later, install the drivers and software from it.

NOTE:
Before upgrading your computer's OS from Windows XP to Windows Vista, uninstall the already-installed Canon software for XP first. Then, upgrade the OS to Windows Vista and install the software for Windows Vista.
If you have already upgraded your computer's OS to Windows Vista before uninstalling the software for XP, pleaseclick hereto view the related information.

Installation Procudures

  1. Insert the CD-ROM provided with this machine into the CD-ROM drive. ( See the illustration "A" below. )
    (The illustration below shows the one for the iP4300. The model name varies depending on the printer model.)


    The description of [ 1 ]: The model name you are using
    The description of [ 2 ]: 2.0 or later


  3. The installation window will be displayed.

    (Memo)
    When the CD-ROM is not launched automatically, select My Computer from the Start menu, then click the CD-ROM icon.

  5. Select Easy Install or Custom Install.

  7. The installation will start. Follow the directions on the screen to continue the installation.

When you want to install the driver and software using the CD-ROM older than Ver. 2.0, or when you do not have a CD-ROM.

When the version of your CD-ROM prepackaged with the printer is older than 2.0, download the driver and software from the Canon website to install them.

NOTE:
Before upgrading your computer' s OS from Windows XP to Windows Vista, uninstall the already-installed Canon software for XP first. Then, upgrade the OS to Windows Vista and install the software for Windows Vista.
