The South African Broadcasting Corporation were guided by their long experience of Canon quality, and good relationship with Canon, in choosing the vital OB equipment to cover the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. The order, with the lenses incorporated into Sony equipment, includes four superb outside broadcast vans. Each is equipped with 15 HD cameras, plus 3 HD Super-Motion cameras. 12 cameras are fitted with Canon's renowned 86x DIGISUPER lenses, 6 more with a range of Canon wide-angle and tele lenses. SABC's long previous relationship with Canon - SABC engineering staff have received training on Canon lenses by Canon technical staff- assured them that, not only were they choosing the best lenses for product quality and performance, but that they could rely on Canon's prompt reaction and excellent, fast engineer service if and whenever a problem or query should occur - vital when you are covering a once- only OB event watched by billions worldwide. No wonder the major OB van companies covering major sports events use Canon lenses. And of course Canon will be providing service support from headquarters during the World Cup 2010 - as they do for all the great sporting events - to ensure that not one magical football moment of South Africa 2010 is missed! 22/10/2009
