Lens leaders Canon have a tradition of continuously improving their products. And that’s certainly true of this new DIGISUPER 27. Improvements in optical specification on the XJ27x6.5B have achieved a zoom ratio of 27x, making a focal length of nearly
180mm. In addition, throughout the whole zoom-range, the DIGISUPER resists those harmful ‘ghosts’, which can threaten in-studio applications. Improved Specifications and Optical Performance The wide end is 6.5 mm, which is 0.3 mm wider than Canon’s current 25X model, and the zoom ratio is 2x greater.
But, while achieving improved specifications, Canon have kept the existing lens length - which can be critical in the small studios. Overall optical performance, including minimized distortion and resolution, has also been improved. Minimised Ghost and Flare Canon have worked to reduce the ghosting and flares that can be caused either by studio lighting or by a strong light source within the picture.
Canon have developed new optical materials and a new coating system,
using evaporation equipment, which establishes coatings on the surface of optical elements in a vacuum.. Zoom drive time shortened The zoom servo has been speeded by 0.1sec compared to the XJ25X6.8B, achieving a zoom speed of 0.5sec, without compromising the low noise characteristics.
And, in operating zoom via zoom demand, movement start & follow have been improved even further, which puts the operator in full control. Canon dealers have all the details.
