AMSTELVEEN, April 15, 2008 – Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, and eCopy, a provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today unveiled a new portfolio of eCopy software products.  The new document scanning and distribution solutions enable organisations to use a Canon multifunctional printer (MFP) to integrate paper documents into software applications and electronic workflows.

“Businesses are increasingly striving to make all business critical information available in a digital format. eCopy can increase document security, streamline business processes and promote productivity,” said Adam Gillbe, European Solutions Marketing Manager, Canon Europe. “Giving customers the option of two versions means that Canon can more effectively meet the needs of companies of all sizes to better manage documents within their organisation.”

For the first time, the ShareScan solution is available in two versions - eCopy ShareScan Essentials and eCopy ShareScan Suite - enabling Canon to provide an eCopy solution for all its customers' document scanning and distribution solution needs.

eCopy’s new ShareScan Essentials meets the essential needs of workgroups and SMEs by scanning to email, fax and network folders. Businesses can also customise ShareScan Essentials using a variety of add-on connectors for a more bespoke solution that meets their current or evolving document management needs.

eCopy ShareScan Suite is a powerful scanning solution that offers out-of-the-box integration to leading business applications, such as content management systems,  databases and servers. It enables users to work securely and seamlessly with familiar applications at their Canon MFP.

Users of eCopy ShareScan can now input additional information at the MFP easier than ever before with a unique keyboard developed exclusively in association with Canon. The external keyboard can be used as an alternative to the standard MFP user interface. In addition, ShareScan is embedded within the MFP for Canon customers, further promoting ease of use and simple user interaction.

The new ShareScan products are fully integrated with Canon’s solutions portfolio, including uniFLOW OM for device management and Canon's document management solutions, ADOS and iW360. Canon’s broad portfolio offers customers a solution which best fits their requirements and helps them reduce costs, and improve both productivity and document security.

eCopy ShareScan  also features a new version of eCopy Desktop, which allows users to combine different electronic document formats directly into a single PDF document.
