Step Three: The Developing Unit

At this stage, the toner affixes to the discharged areas of the photosensitive drum through static electricity. As the drum rotates, it picks up uniform charged toner in the desired layout (i.e. images or letters) ready to be transferred to paper. The uniform charge to the toner enables stable high quality print-outs.
