I am worried about security. Can I use a firewall?

In the Internet Sharing Configuration screen, even if you select the "Do not display this message again" checkbox, why is the Internet Sharing Configuration screen displayed whenever DV Messenger is started?

Why doesn't DV Messenger work even though Windows Messenger can be used when the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) is enabled and a UPnP router is being used?

When Using a UPnP RouterDV Messenger will not operate under the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall, third-party firewalls, or when internet security software is set. To use DV Messenger, disable the settings, and then enable the settings again after exiting DV Messenger.

When Not Using a UPnP Router (when the PC is connected directly to an analog modem, ADSL modem, or FTTH modem)

DV Messenger will not operate when a third-party firewall or internet security software is set. Therefore, to use DV Messenger, disable the settings, and then enable the settings again after exiting DV Messenger.

DV Messenger can be used when the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall is set. However, if DV Messenger is started while the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall is enabled, the Internet Sharing Configuration dialog box is displayed. Click Yes to give access privileges to DV Messenger.

This screen is not displayed by DV Messenger, but is displayed by Windows XP. Therefore, this is a bug in Windows XP. We apologize for this inconvenience, but please click Yes whenever you start DV Messenger.

Why doesn't DV Messenger work even though Windows Messenger can be used when the Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) is enabled and a UPnP router is being used?

When Windows XP's Internet Connection Firewall is enabled, Windows XP cannot correctly detect the UPnP router, and DV Messenger is unable to use the required router functions to communicate with the other party. As a result, DV Messenger cannot be used when the Internet Connection Firewall is enabled.
