| Check your system and make sure that it satisfies all of the following Windows Messenger requirements. 1. Internet connection 2. Use of an Internet Service Provider who assigns a global IP address to each user. Check your service contract, or contact your ISP or cable provider for information about global IP addresses 3. If you are using a router, make sure that is compatible with Windows Messenger and that it is configured correctly. however, that even if your router is compatible with Windows Messenger, it will not be compatible with DV Messenger if the router is not a UPnP Internet Gateway Device. 4. If you have personal firewall software installed on your computer, disable it. If your computer has anti-virus software, a firewall function may also have been installed automatically when you installed the anti-virus
