High-definition 5.0 Megapixel CCD sensor
The 5.0 Megapixel CCD provides an exact reading of every shooting situation and enables you to produce pin-sharp images. Even when printing large size prints there is no visible loss of detail.

High-resolution 4x optical zoom lens
The 4x optical zoom Canon lens has a focal length of 7.2 to 28.8mm (35-140mm equivalent in 35mm format) and an aperture with a range of f2.0 to f3.0.

A wealth of shooting options
The PowerShot G5 is equipped with an SLR-style Mode Dial with 12 different shooting modes. With this amount of shooting modes to choose from, you have as much control or freedom as you need.

High-performance DIGIC processor
The exclusive DIGIC (Digital Imaging Core) processor allows for complex algorithms relating to each shot to be executed in a short space of time. As a result you get superb quality images with improved camera performance, a more accurate autofocus and a longer battery life.

iSAPS technology
iSAPS uses a vast statistical database of different types of images and the settings used for each one. This dramatically improves the camera’s ability to interpret shooting situations, improving auto exposure, auto white balance and autofocus accuracy and speed.

FlexiZone AF/AE
If your subject is off-centre you can use FlexiZone AF/AE to freely scroll your autofocus point across the autofocus area. Exposure is then automatically adapted to ensure your selected area is crystal clear.
