With Canon's 8.2 MP CMOS sensor, the EOS-1D Mark II N has all the sensitivity necessary to bring out contrast and subtle detail in dark shadows and highlights. A built-in low-pass filter and on-chip circuitry suppress false colours and noise.
The camera delivers 8.5 fps continuous shooting for up to 48 frame bursts of large JPEG images, or 22 RAW images.
45 focus points cover a wide area of the screen for consistently sharp results - even with off-centre and fast moving subjects.
DIGIC II renders colour and monochrome tones and effects with exceptional accuracy. Power efficient and super fast, DIGIC II also optimises battery life and supports instant 0.2 second start up.
Picture Style pre-sets provide easy control over image processing parameters as well as a monochrome shooting mode. Each style offers a different colour response - similar to the way film types are changed to achieve different effects. Sharpness, contrast, colour tone and saturation are adjustable within each pre-set.
The bright 2.5" 230K pixel LCD is viewable up to 85° in most directions. Use Quick View to check focus and composition without swapping into playback.
Dual card slots
RAW and JPEG images can be written separately to CF or SD memory cards. When writing to a single card, a short cut allows a quick switch to the next card when one card is full. Camera settings can be saved to a card for moving user settings to other cameras.
Wide ISO range
Low (L:50) and high (H:3200) ISO settings extend the standard 100-1600 range. When changing ISO, options are displayed in the viewfinder.
Tough and durable
A rugged weather-resistant magnesium alloy casing contains over 70 moisture resistant seals. Shutter durability is a reliable 200,000 cycles.
Digital Photo Professional software
The Digital Photo Professional software permits high-speed processing of lossless RAW images.
Options and Connectivity
The EOS-1D Mark II N is compatible with all Canon EF lenses (excl. EF-S lenses) and the EX series Speedlite flash range. E-TTL II passes distance information to the Speedlites for consistently accurate flash exposures. The optional Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1 allows untethered shooting, while Video Out allows reviewing on a TV screen. Connect with FireWire (IEEE 1394) for fast data uploads or USB for PictBridge direct printing.
