Focal length extension for super-telephoto lenses
The Extender EF 2x II is specially designed to work in conjunction with L-series IS super-telephoto lenses, extending their focal length by a factor of 2x. The extender's design minimises any loss of lens performance or image quality.
High quality construction
Improved anti-reflection materials inside the lens-barrel and a coating around the outer edges of the lens elements reduce flare. Construction is resistant to dust and water.
Maximum aperture
The effective aperture of any lens used with Extender EF 2x II becomes smaller by two stop. Autofocusing does not operate if the effective maximum aperture is greater than f/5.6 (of if greater than f/8 with a EOS-1 series camera).
