Timber Wolf

The Timber Wolf (also: Grey Wolf) most closely fits the common image of a wolf, a species said to be the ancestor of the dog. Timber wolves hunt animals ranging in size from mice to deer. They hunt in packs, using cries, scent and other gestures to communicate with each other. A wolf's howl is believed to be a means of locating other wolves and of announcing their own location.
