“Massimo has been a strong senior leader within Canon for many years,” comments Rokus van Iperen. “He has built up extensive management expertise and industry experience both at Canon’s EMEA regional headquarters and in local country operations. His strategic leadership skills will help drive the continued development of our communications function and strategy across EMEA for the future.”
Since joining Canon in Italy in 1991, Massimo has held a number of senior roles across the business including Marketing Director and Corporate Communications & Planning Director, before being appointed HR Director in 2003. He was appointed Chief of Human Resources, Canon EMEA in 2006 and has led the introduction of the company’s HR practices, policies and systems across the EMEA region, as well as the development of its European leadership and performance management programmes.
Massimo succeeds James Leipnik who is retiring this year following a distinguished 32 year career with Canon. James played a significant role in the establishment of Canon’s first regional headquarters in EMEA, developing the company’s strategic direction through a regional headquarters model.
