Notes on Network Security to Prevent Unintended Third Party from Accessing Your Network Cameras

To prevent unintended third party from accessing your network cameras, please note that:

  • It is strongly recommended to change the initial administrator password and also change the password periodically.
  • In the initial setting, [Privileged Camera Control], [Camera Control], [Video Distribution], [Audio Distribution] are enabled as user access privileges. When you do not want to give these privileges to Guest Users, please disable the settings.

Countermeasure for Lightning

Applies to: All camera models

  • These products are at risk of being affected by direct lightning, induced lightning and return lightning, etc. We recommend that you implement the lightning surge countermeasure to reduce the risk prior to installation of the cameras.

Guideline for Parts Replacement

Applies to: VB-Rxx PTZ camera models

  • The following parts are expendable and are not covered by the limited warranty. In addition, the product life information indicated in [ ] are reference values when the parts’ 360° motion is repeated under 25+/-10°; therefore, it varies depending on the usage or installation environment.
1. Stepping Motor[4 million motions*]
2. Slip Ring

*One motion is 360°.
  • If you need replacement of the parts, contact your local repair counter.
  • The retention period of functional parts for repair is seven years after the end of production discontinuation.

Preventive Measure against Clouded Dome

Applies to: VB-M64xVE & H65xVE Outdoor fixed dome camera models

  • The dome used for these products may get fogged (The dome material got clouded etc.) over the years.
  • To reduce the occurrence of this phenomenon, we recommend that you use Sunshade Cover (sold separately).

Warning about "Class A" Products and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)

Applies to: VB-M741LE, VB-M740E, VB-R11VE, VB-R10VE, VB-M641VE, VB-M640VE

  • These "Class A" products are intended for use in industrial or commercial areas. In a domestic environment, these products may cause radio interference, in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
