Canon has launched the imagePRESS C7000VPe Factory Produced New Model (FPNM) digital colour press.
Using Canon’s expertise in manufacturing innovative solutions for the print industry, its FPNM range is produced by collecting best-selling models from recent years from the market and disassembling these to the frame level at a Canon factory. Key moving parts are replaced, and all disassembled parts are then thoroughly cleaned and fully tested before the machine is rebuilt using a combination of existing and new parts, creating a new edition of the original model.
One of the main challenges facing organisations that want to move into digital print can be in securing the finance to make an initial investment. Hence this model is intended to help smaller organisations and in-house print departments take their first steps into digital print with a solution that offers the high quality and performance that the market expects from Canon equipment, but for a lower capital investment than a brand new machine.
In addition, because a large amount of the CO2 emissions over a product lifecycle are associated with raw materials, Canon’s FPNM range represents a reduction in CO2 emissions of nearly 80% according to lifecycle assessment simulations.
