Océ Arizona 2200 series launched at drupa 2016

Following the successful launch of the Océ Arizona 1200 series in early 2016, at drupa (31 May – 10 June 2016, Düsseldorf) Canon has announced the launch of the new Arizona 2200 series of UV flatbed printers. Replacing the Arizona 600 series, the new Arizona 2260 and 2280 have been developed to meet the needs of print service providers (PSPs) who need to increase their production capacity, broaden their range of applications and meet shorter deadlines without compromising on quality.

According to Mathew Faulkner, European Marketing Manager for Wide Format Print Group, Canon Europe:

The opportunity for mid-volume PSPs to grow and diversify is enormous. But in order to do this successfully, they must offer speed and efficiency alongside print quality, as the demands of consumers are constantly evolving. The Océ Arizona 2200 series provides a flexible and scalable solution with decreased delivery times and high-quality printing and finishing on a diverse range of materials. We believe this will empower PSPs to maximise their offering and work to deliver a range of superb products, quickly and cost-effectively.

A High Definition printing mode enables the precision dot positioning required for industrial applications, while the optional addition of light cyan and light magenta inks delivers the smoother colour transitions, highlights and quarter tones that are essential for expansion into photographic and fine art print applications.

A stronger vacuum system provides reliable drawdown of unconventionally shaped, heavy, smooth and pre-cut rigid media, while the new UV curing system reduces surface heat for printing on even the thinnest, most heat-sensitive films and self-adhesive PVCs. The option to print on flexible roll media up to 2.2 meters wide further increases the versatility of the Arizona 2200 series by enabling unattended printing.
