Mara behind the camera:
a new Maasai Experience

Canon Camera
The Canon Experience Centre at the heart of the Maasai Mara isn’t just for safari lovers. The Maasai people are using it to inspire a world of change.

“The Maasai girls are not really given a chance to pursue education.” For Anne Tumpesia that pursuit was a struggle. “The girls in the village may have to go and look after the cows and clean the house.

“I wanted something different for my life.”

For seven years, Anne has been working as a safari guide and is a recent graduate from the Canon Miraisha x Ishara safari guide photography training programme, taking her one step closer to her dreams of becoming a photojournalist.
