• Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.

• Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.

• Double-click the mounted Disk Image.

• Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.

Black and white printing, known as ‘Greyscale printing’, may be selected within the printer settings on your computer.

These settings are not adjusted on the printer itself.

Windows users:
Please select the [Quick setup] or [Main] tab of the [Printing Preferences] menu or by displaying the [printer properties] or [print options] during the print process.

Mac users:
Please select [Quality & Media] from the pop-up menu on the Print Dialog and select the [Grayscale Printing] check box.

This will enable you to produce greyscale prints from your printer, however, please be aware that this setting will continue to use a combination of other colour inks.

As well as using the black ink tank for text, a combination of other colours are used to produce what is known as a “composite” black for images and graphics.

The number of inks used in this setting is dependent on a number of different factors. These can include the model of your printer, the type of print you are producing (photo, graphics or text), the type of media you are printing onto and the quality setting you have selected within the driver. Although the print may appear to be monochrome, other colour inks will be used during printing.

Unfortunately, printing photos and graphics using only black ink is not possible.
