DIGITAL PRINT TECHNOLOGY LEADS THE WAY

Being an offset print house, in 2014, Elanders decided to evolve its existing business model and exploit the opportunities of print on demand, underpinned by digital print technology.

Elanders Group invested in several digital print solutions from Canon across its production sites in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Hungary, including mono and colour toner cutsheet printers (varioPRINT 6000 TITAN and imagePRESS C910), large format devices (imagePROGRAF), as well sheetfed and continuous feed inkjet presses (varioPRINT iX3200, ColorStream 6000 and 8000), supported by Canon’s PRISMA workflow software.

PRODUCTIVITY + QUALITY = MASS CUSTOMISATION GROWTH OPPORTUNITY

Elanders UK can now produce shorter print runs in higher volumes, faster, more cost-effectively and more sustainably, thanks to inkjet. The technology offers the ultimate in consistency and uptime, while setting a new quality standard.

With big ambitions to continue the success of its growth, Elanders Group launched its “mass customisation” division following the recent acquisition of one of Germany’s most established digital print providers ‘Schätzl Druck & Medien’. The company can now offer photobooks, customised books, and calendar printing, user manuals, and e-commerce printing.

“Inkjet technology gives Canon a clear market USP which we will use as a springboard for opening up new markets.”
