Canon wins two 2026 PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Awards for Innovation

London UK, 16 July 2026 - Canon today announces that it has received two 2026 PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Awards for its varioPRESS iV7 and imagePROGRAF GP-2600S technologies.   The awards celebrate products which offer superior levels of innovation, performance, and excellence, whilst recognising those which are helping to shape the future of the printing industry.

The Canon varioPRESS iV7 B2 sheetfed inkjet press received the Technology award, earning recognition as a pioneering technology which is enhancing the productivity and versatility of sheetfed inkjet in commercial print environments.  Designed to efficiently produce short-run jobs with superior offset-quality output on a wide range of media, including B2+ (up to 750 x 614 mm and 24.8 x 13.9 inches) sheet sizes, the press enables customers to confidently address evolving market demands and unlock new business opportunities.  The varioPRESS iV7 supports print providers in expanding application possibilities, streamlining production workflows and delivering outstanding image quality, performance and media flexibility.

Canon’s imagePROGRAF GP-2600S large format printer also received the Output award.  This device helps print service providers to produce vibrant, colour-accurate graphics for applications ranging from retail signage and photography to fine art and point-of-sale displays. Equipped with Canon's LUCIA PRO II pigment ink system, the GP-2600S delivers an expanded colour gamut, strong image durability, and consistent print quality, enabling customers to meet demanding colour expectations while maintaining production efficiency.

Jennifer Kolloczek, Senior Director, Marketing & Innovation, Production Print at Canon EMEA comments; "Innovation at Canon is driven by sustained investment in R&D, a clear understanding of evolving customer needs and a disciplined approach to product development. This enables us to bring technologies to market that combine outstanding quality with meaningful customer value. Having both the varioPRESS iV7 and the imagePROGRAF GP-2600S recognised in the 2026 PRINTING United Alliance Pinnacle Awards demonstrates the strength and breadth of that approach. We are proud to see both technologies acknowledged for their performance, quality and contribution to our customers’ businesses.”

The awards build on Canon’s continued industry leadership in production inkjet, noted by leading independent industry analysts - and its commitment to helping commercial printers, direct mail providers, publishing printers, and other print service providers drive growth through innovative technology.

For example, Canon was recently recognised as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide High-Speed Inkjet 2025 Vendor Assessment (doc #US52990625, December 2025). The IDC MarketScape highlighted that “Canon has well-developed supply chains that have already scaled up. It has an extensive global service network with fast response times and reliable parts availability worldwide. Canon is innovating in the area of service, designing programmes that enable print service providers to be trained to perform different levels of service on their Canon HSIJ equipment to reduce downtime.”
