Environment and chemical compliance
Canon participates in packaging recycling and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes across Europe, contributing to the collection, treatment and recycling of packaging waste in accordance with applicable national requirements.
In the European Union, Canon complies with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) and the applicable national requirements in the countries where we operate. The PPWR introduces a phased framework covering the entire lifecycle of packaging, with requirements aimed at reducing packaging waste, improving recyclability, increasing reuse and the use of recycled materials, and supporting the transition towards a circular economy.
In the UK, Canon continues to comply with applicable national packaging and Extended Producer Responsibility requirements.
We encourage our customers to reuse and recycle packaging wherever appropriate and to follow the recycling guidance and collection systems available in their country.
