FUTURE BOOK FORUM 2025

Future Book Forum 2025 offered attendees a unique networking event to dedicate two days to the future of their book businesses.

For 11 years running, the event has fostered long-term partnerships and industry-wide transformation, bringing the leading minds in the book industry together to innovate and collaborate. This year we explored the business ecosystem approach and how it can support the book industry's transformation into a prosperous future.

Beyond Books: Reinventing Publishing Ecosystems

Future Book Forum is the go-to destination for those who want to open and design the next pages of their book business. For over a decade, the event has offered an exclusive face-to-face networking opportunity to drive inspiration, exchange ideas, form connections, and create the future of the book industry together.

At Canon, we believe printed books will continue to underpin publishers' future business models, educate learners of all ages and capture readers' hearts. But today’s book business is shaped by rapid change which requires us – the entire book industry – to adapt faster and think ahead.

To every Forum, we invite carefully selected guests from the European and international book industry – including publishers, printers, distributors, technology and solution providers and adjacent sectors – to the Canon Customer Experience Center in Poing, near Munich, Germany.

The Value of Business Ecosystems

Together, we explored how the business ecosystem approach can be adapted by the book industry. Using practical examples, group workshops and roundtable discussions, we discussed how publishers, print service providers, distributors and other participants in the book supply chain can harness ecosystem-thinking to develop new products, services, and experiences.

Ecosystem Design Jams

The ‘Ecosystem Design Jam’ sessions saw attendees participate in fully interactive workshops in small groups, thinking outside the box and discovering tools to adapt ecosystem thinking to the book industry.

It was a masterclass in understanding the strategic roles in business ecosystems, leading participants to identify potential untapped opportunities for innovation, collaboration and new value creation.

Ecosystem Labs

The ‘Ecosystem Labs’ were immersive discussion sessions hosted by thought leaders, entrepreneurs, solution providers, and experts. It allowed attendees to take a deep dive into selected topics and expand their expertise to reinvent the book ecosystem.
